It’s been a week.
Although this summer is different from the previous one, we are still in the same boat. COVID-19’s other long-term issues of climate change և work և life balance reappeared.
And, unlike in the past, those questions can no longer be ignored or thrown under the rug. There will be a long, difficult road ahead, but it’s not new to security professionals, or something you can not figure out.
Be safe, be cool ինչպես, as always, let us know how EHS today I can help.
Rumors of a delta version of COVID-19 remain grim.
Many states are again seeing an increase in cases that reach previous peaks. The difference? We now have three vaccines approved by the Food and Drug Administration for emergency use.
Providers deliver approximately 699,000 COVID-19 vaccines daily based on the 7-day moving average of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). That’s compared to a few weeks ago, but it doesn’t fit the delta version. The United States now has an average of more than 125,000 cases per day, an increase of 76% over the previous two weeks. Hospitalizations and deaths also increased by 80% և 92%, respectively.
Delta growth is taking place at a more regional մակարդ state level, which tends to coincide with vaccination rates. Arkansas set a new record for COVID-19 hospitalizations on Monday. Hospital officials at the University of Mississippi Medical Center said the state medical system was on the verge of failure due to an increase in COVID-19 patients, staff shortages, and a reduction in the capacity of the intensive care unit.

The future of work
Another company has revealed how it will work with COVID-19.
This week, 3M announced its new “Work Your Way” model, which offers more than 90,000 employees more flexibility in their workplace. As part of this model, employees can determine what works best for them, և they will let their managers know if they want to be remote or hybrid. The co-worker և manager will come up with a personalized work plan.
“What we’ve found is that our employees are likely to look more productive at home in a non-productive environment,” said Dennis Rutherford, senior vice president of corporate affairs at CBS Minnesota, WCCO. to: “It does not matter where you are or how you work, the number of hours, but the result of the work we agree on together is important to us.”
This new model will primarily apply to those who have office work. In the future, 3M plans to allow lab workers to fill out paperwork from home կգ will find a way to give factory workers more flexibility.

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change released a new report on climate change on Monday. It did not shout words. The presentation is the clearest: comprehensive summary: the report is almost 4000 pages on climate change physics to date.
We have not yet had the opportunity to delve into the report, but fortunately major media outlets such as: The Washington Post, The Economist, The New York Times: art Quartz conducted the report և suggested key manuals.
We know that there is disagreement over climate change, even among the 234 authors of this report, ‘their respective countries and governments’. That conclusion of the introduction becomes even so terrible.
Many of these changes associated with greenhouse gas emissions, such as melting glaciers, are irreversible. And many countries are yielding to the changes needed to avoid global warming of 1.5-2 degrees Celsius. But the report, in the form of a small window of time, hopes to avoid some of these catastrophic consequences if the world takes immediate action.
“We have to act decisively now,” said UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. “Every part of the ladder counts.”
